Διεθνής Διαγωνισμός Πιάνου «De Bach Au Jazz» 2018

O Διεθνής Διαγωνισμός Πιάνου «De Bach Au Jazz» του 2018 θα διεξαχθεί από 11-14 Απριλίου 2018, υπό την αιγίδα του Ωδείου Αθηνών. Στο διαγωνισμό καλούνται να συμμετάσχουν πιανίστες όλων των βαθμίδων και των ειδών με στόχο την προώθηση όλων των μουσικών ειδών, «από τον Μπαχ έως σήμερα και την Jazz».
Ο διαγωνισμός θα διεξαχθεί στο Ωδείο Αθηνών, στη νέα ανακαινισμένη αίθουσα συναυλιών Άρης Γαρουφαλής και αιτήσεις γίνονται δεκτές μέχρι τις 28 Φεβρουαρίου 2018.

PROGRAMME OF THE COMPETITION

Group A – 8 years and under
• Two pieces of different style (max. total time 5 mn)

Group B – 11 years and under
• One piece from J.S. Bach (or of baroque style)
• One etude
• One piece – free choice
(max. total time 7 mn)

Group C – 14 years and under
• One piece from J.S. Bach (or of baroque style)
• One etude
• One romantic piece
• One piece – free choice
(max. total time 12 mn)

Group D – 17 years and under
First round
• One piece from J.S. Bach
• One etude
• One quick movement from a classical sonata (Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven)
(max. total time 10mn)

Second round
• One romantic piece
• One jazz piece: a Scott Joplin’s ragtime, or an improvisation in jazz style,
or one 20th century, or one contemporary piece
(max. total time 15 mn)

Group E – 21 years and under
First round
• One prelude and fugue from J.S. Bach
• One etude (Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Debussy)
(max. total time 10 mn)

Second round
• One quick movement from a classical sonata (Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven)
• One romantic piece
• One jazz piece: Nikolaï Kapustin – Toccatina Op. 36, or an improvisation in jazz style,
or one 20th century, or one contemporary piece
(max.total time 25 mn)

Group F – 30 years and under

First round
• One prelude and fugue from J.S. Bach
• One etude (Chopin, Liszt, Rachmaninov, Scriabin, Debussy, Prokofiev, Ligeti)
• One romantic piece
(max.total time 20 mn)

Second round
• One classical sonata (Haydn, Mozart or Beethoven)
• One piece – free choice
• One jazz piece: Nikolaï Kapustin – Etude Op. 40, N°1, or an improvisation in jazz style,
or Roger Briggs – «Jitterbug» (score) or one 20th century or one contemporary piece
(max.total time 40 mn)

“Efstratios Manousakis” memorial award: 400€
for the best performance of a Beethoven Sonata
granted by his daughter Jenia Manousaki, pianist

All entrants will be awarded a Diploma of Participation

Group A and B: 60€; Group C and D: 80€; Group E and F: 100€

  1. The Competition is open to pianists of all nationalities.
  2. The Competition includes separate age groups
  3. Participants may enter a category of a higher age group
  4. All the performances are open to the public.
  5. Candidates must play from memory. Exceptionally, for contemporary music scores will be
    tolerated. All must be able to present the score from which they are playing, if requested
  6. Applications close on February 28th 2018
  7. Entry will be confirmed upon payment of fees
  8. In case of withdrawal, the participant is kindly requested to inform the organizers
  9. Fees are not refundable
  10. The Jury may interrupt a candidate during performance. The Jury can split a prize or not award a prize
  11. The Jury’s decisions are final
  12. The results will be announced before the end of the day of each group’s performance
  13. The winners of each group will perform at the Gala Concert on April 14th 2018. The prizes and the diplomas will be awarded at the Gala Concert. Should a winner not participate at the Gala Concert, the prize will not be awarded
  14. Any video or audio recordings remain the property of the organizers
  15. Travelling and living expenses are to be borne by the candidates
  16. The organizers will not accept any responsibility for accidents during the competition
  17. Entry to the competition implies full acceptance of the Competition’s Rules.
